“Centro de Asistencia a la Reproducción Humana de Canarias (FIVAP)”, directed by Doctor Angela Palumbo, is a Gynecological and Obstetrical clinic specialized in fertility treatments, reproductive endocrinology, contraception, hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery, tridimensional ultrasound.
Since our first IVF cycle in 2001, we have performed more than 3500 IVF cycles and 1500 egg donation cycles with a pregnancy rate comparable to those of the best reference centers.

Why choose FIVAP?
The Centro de Asistencia a la Reproducción Humana de Canarias (FIVAP) was funded in 2001, after Dr. Angela Palumbo moved from Boston to the island of Tenerife.
The idea was to create a “women’s clinic” covering all aspects of gynecologic and obstetrical care while maintaining high levels of clinical excellence. Our main goal was to care for women and couples with infertility. A high standard has been maintained by incorporating over the years multiple technical advancements. All this without loosing sight of the individuality of each patient and the need for personalized care.
This is an important mission because infertility is a frequent disease in modern society. It is estimated that aproximately 250.000 babies are born each year by assisted reproduction techniques in the world. Not only we help couples that can´t conceive spontaneously but also we allow coulpes with hereditary congenital diseases to have healthy babies thanks to preimplantation genetic diagnosis.
Our first IVF babies were conceived in 2001. Embryo freezing was performed successfully from the start and the first baby from frozen embryos was born in 2002. In the same year we started our egg donation program. In 2003 our first babies after preimplantation genetic diagnosis.
In our center all aspects of women’s health are equally important, from adolescence to menopause, from contraception to hormone replacement therapy, prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and of gynecological cancer. We also take care of pregnant women, normal and high risk pregnancy and have a specific early pregnancy unit.
The Centro de Asistencia a la Reproducción Humana de Canarias (FIVAP) participates every year to the SEF (Spanish Fertility Society) registry.
The objective of the SEF registry is to organize and coordinate the collection of data from the spanish IVF centers and garantee a correct analysis and diffusion of results at the national and international level.
